Addiction Neurobiology

We are primarily interested in how the brain changes to engage in drug addiction related behaviors. Specifically, we look at the involvement of gonadal hormones in shaping drug preference (over a food reward), epigenetic changes following escalated drug use (compared to recreational use), and the effect of the prenatal environment on the development of drug preference.
