Social Evaluations and Emotions Lab

Evaluations and emotions reflect and determine our most basic inclinations to approach and avoid interaction with our environment.

In the Social Evaluations and Emotions Lab, we study the evaluations, emotions, attitudes, and norms – perceptions of others’ evaluations – that underpin both intergroup relations and social influence. Two long-running programs of research investigate the role of intergroup emotions in intergroup relations, and the role of familiarity in the formation and change of evaluative judgments.
