Biography

I first attended Fullerton College where I gained an interest in psychological research. Once I transferred to UC Irvine, I worked with Dr. Jutta Heckhausen and Dr. Brandilynn Villarreal studying how parents influence academic motivation. At UCSB, I am a graduate student in the labs of Dr. Shelly Gable and Dr. Diane Mackie. Outside of the lab, I enjoy being outdoors, whether on land or in the water, and spending time with my family, including my daughter, partner, two cats, dog, and indoor plants.

Research Area

My research investigates how individuals' approach and avoidance motivational orientations may influence their emotions and the quality of their interactions. I am also interested in how emotions are regulated in interpersonal and/or intergroup contexts.
