B.A. - Psychology and Social Behavior - U.C. Irvine
I first attended Fullerton College where I gained an interest in psychological research. Once I transferred to UC Irvine, I worked with Dr. Jutta Heckhausen and Dr. Brandilynn Villarreal studying how parents influence academic motivation. At UCSB, I am a graduate student in the labs of Dr. Shelly Gable and Dr. Diane Mackie. Outside of the lab, I enjoy paddling outrigger canoe and dragon boat, and playing with my daughter, Cassie, and my dog, Stacy.
My research investigates how individuals' approach and avoidance motivational orientations may influence their emotions and the quality of their interactions. I am also interested in how emotions are regulated in interpersonal and/or intergroup contexts.
