UCSB CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS LAB

Research Positions in our Lab:

Information for Undergraduates

Each quarter, we accept a few students as research assistants (RA) to assist in all aspect of our research. The availability of a position depends on the needs of the lab during a given quarter and the number of students who are already involved. If you are interested in a position, please read the description of the research we conduct and make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

Research Overview and RA Duties

The research we conduct in the lab falls under the broad category of close relationships. Within this area, we are particularly interested in understanding romantic relationships between dating and married couples. As of Fall 2011, we will have the following studies ongoing in the lab:

  1. The second study examines the neuroendocrine (hormonal) and cardiovascular underpinnings of social support processes in couples.

The RAs we hire are involved in a variety of different activities during a given quarter. For example, students often help to administer study materials to participants, enter data into the computer, code video tapes, and conduct library research. Undergraduate students are vital members of our research team!
